Professional and highly motivated teachers are part of your learning success.
inlingua teachers have a mother tongue level in the languages they teach. They are trained by inlingua experts to properly implement the successful inlingua language teaching method and use our specially designed material for individual or group lessons.
1. Only the target language is spoken in class.
The teacher does not translate for you, but helps to understand the meaning of words in context. This is done gradually and at an appropriate pace so that each participant has enough time to understand the linguistic element.
2. Speaking and listening are the focal point of the class.
To use a language properly, you must be able to speak first. You also learn to read and write, but the introduction of the foreign language is done by speaking. The teacher makes sure that all participants can pronounce each word correctly and then continues teaching.
3. Language patterns are learnt with examples and not with explanations.
When participants understand the foreign language in context, they are encouraged to develop their general understanding. These skills are required in everyday communication. Even grammar is learned through descriptive examples, rather than through tedious and longish grammatical explanations.
4. Participants get the chance to talk as much as possible.
Students are encouraged to actively use the foreign language throughout the learning process. This requires a maximum of active participation. The teachers keep their amount of speaking time as low as possible, so that the participants can practice as much as possible during a training session.
5. Individual learning needs are dealt with in a relaxed atmosphere.
The goals of each individual student are taken into account and are included in class. The conception of the courses allows to adapt to different learning styles. All this happens in a fun and relaxed environment.
6. Correction of errors takes a positive approach.
Students are encouraged to correct themselves in order to achieve correct pronunciation and properly use a foreign language element in a conversation. We consider learning as a process of continuous improvement.
7. Prior knowledge of a topic is checked before introducing a new linguistic element.
If you already know a word or can use a structure, we start exactly there and build on your individual previous knowledge.
8. “Give it a try!” – the motto in class.
You are encouraged to express and experiment with the newly learned foreign language element.
9. The books stay closed during presentation and practice phase.
Foreign language elements are introduced in the course through speech before being presented in writing. The course book is used later exclusively for the purpose of training writing skills as well as listening comprehension and linguistic usage.
10. A multitude of approved teaching methods are applied
Although the objectives of each lesson are clearly defined, teachers use a variety of methods in the classroom. They take into account different learning styles and backgrounds and help the participant to apply the foreign language in different situations from real life.
